Ted the Domino theory was pushed by a lot of people with different ideas and agendas. To pretend it is simply one exact unvarying thing makes no sense.

Also the Domino theory would not really have bee unproven totally invalid even if Laos and Cambodia didn't fall. Our intervention could have helped to avoid those countries falling to communism. In the end it failed but the Domino theory would only have been 100% proven wrong if we did almost nothing and no other country in the region besides South Vietnam fell to communism.
