I find it difficult to swallow that individually, members of the Bush inner circle are very intelligent and bright; but collectively, they have devised a clumsy, ambiguous, and dangerous policy to counter the threat of terrorism. Well put. I also agree with your evaluation of the Judt article. I'm presently reading a book tek recommended, The Age of Sacred Terror by Benjamin and Simon. I'm about half way thru. It makes Judt's point an even more devastating one.
