Hi Bob,

I agree that INTC will continue to be a fierce competitor. I agree that we are moving to wireless and that INTC has the silicon real estate to incorporate everything, including RF and the "kitchen sink", onto its "processor" chips.

MSFT has no competition, INTC does. That competition has arisen recently after years of almost monopoly domination. Going forward, the situation favors AMD's survival. AMD no longer must compete ALONE against INTC process technology and huge capital investment. That is the saving factor.

The "efficiencies of scale" you refer to with respect to 300mm is the principal reason for consortiums and foundries.

MSFT has been INTC's worst enemy. MSFT has forced all innovation off the INTC PC processor platform. INTC is scrambling to reinvent itself and sees its process technology as its crown jewel. The jury is out because process technology is no longer a single company challenge but an industry challenge.
