James, I don't follow what you are trying to say. What was fulfilled in 70 AD? From the writings of Josephus we can see that the Jews made insurrection against the Roman authority and the temple was destroyed but beyond that I don't see Jesus having returned. Here we find Jesus talking about the last days, the days during the great tribulation Matt 24 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Now prior to the siege of Jerusalem we find that a God fearing bishop lead all the believers in Christ to safety. So these certainly are not the elect being discussed. Plus it is talking about “all flesh” carnal, pagan, Christian, Jew, Greek, ….all, in other words no flesh was being excluded. During the conquest of Jerusalem the only ones who were suffering were a handful of vile Jews. Most of the world didn’t even know it was going on. Note that Jesus is here talking about a GREAT TRIBULATION, this tribulation will be felt by ALL FLESH. And except he cut it short for his “elects” sake, none would be alive. Many wars and rumors of wars have taken place but Jerusalem is just one city. I recall that half the pilgrims which came over on the Mayflower died within the first year. They had been reduced to eating shoe leather as well so why dwell upon the misery of the few vile Jews and say it fulfilled all prophesy? Sure the temple was destroyed and not one stone stood upon the other as Jesus predicted, but He didn’t say he would be right on the scene the next day. And if He did come back the second time then where did he stay and why isn’t He there now? Is there to be a third coming? Right now Jesus sits at the right hand of God, exactly as Stephen saw him but He will be coming again.

James, If you are referring to your Preterist views that the second coming of Christ has already been fulfilled, that is nothing more than your personal opinion. We have exchanged scriptures before, and there are, at least, as many scriptures that differ with your view as those that may cause you to believe as you do. Nevertheless, it is merely your personal opinion. Of course, you are entitled to express any opinion that you may have, as am I, or anyone else, as long as they cause no harm, but you are in no position to claim that your views are established fact.
