LOL, geez, an I thought I was good at throwing stones -g- Actually as a kid I grew up by the sea, and as PC's were non existent, the kid that could throw a stone the furthest out to sea was an important guy around town. Somehow this conversation drifted a little. It started off with me saying...."Propaganda works on children more then anyone". This is true. I was not trying to say, in an underhanded manner, the the USA was brain washing me. It's a fact, as I tell kids stories all the time, and they lap it up. If I wanted to tell kids the USA was a bad place, I'm sure I would have a big bunch of USA hating kids on the block in a week or two. So...now I am being pushed up to defend Stalin and the Gulags. Me who read all of George Orwells books by age about 14. Let me say just this. It's a good argument that Stalin was worse then Hitler. Hitler was just reacting to what 'ol Joe had planned all along. Fact is, both the USA and Britain have a poor record of using their armed forces for both nuclear and chemical warfare experiments. Britain's record even goes up to 1983.news.bbc.co.uk news.bbc.co.uk So all that stuff about USSR service people being used as "guinie pigs" for weapons experiments was also reflected here in the UK and in the USA. If you have a problem admitting that, yes, we have a problem Houston -g- I'm intending to go over to the Ukraine again some time to see my brother. We are also planning a trip to Moscow, Russia too. Just as there is a Russian version of "Big Bull", there is also a Russian version of "pearly button" too I expect. I already met my Ukrainian version. He was an electronic systems specialist, and spent some time in the Russian air force (I don't have any armed forces service record though). Patriotic, fairly intelligent technical guy, drank beer (the stuff in the Ukraine is amazing) and so full of B/S he spent several periods in jail for impure political thoughts -lol- Fortunately the countries I worked in were a little more tolerant. It's interesting to meet the guy who was working on stuff to kill you and your fellow people, while you were working on stuff to kill him and his people though. The Ukraine and Russia should not be bombed imho. It would be such a terrible waste of normal human beings.
