Except for Bush, everyone else seems to have known about North Korea and their nuclear capabilities for a longtime. Why is it suddenly scary now?

It wasn't known, Karen. It was suspected that they had a weapons program. Now we know that they don't just have the program, they have nukes. That's why it is suddenly scary now.

>>everyone else seems to have known about North Korea<<

"Everybody" doesn't include me.

But, being as cynical as I can be, it does strike me that October is the perfect time to tell the Koreans that unless they finally come clean about their nukes and disarm, they can freeze to death in the dark.

We finally broke ground on the light water reactors in August of this year, and their heavy water reactors are inactive. We have been providing them with fuel oil as an interim solution.

It's getting cold now.

Coincidence?
