Yup, exactly - I'm back to my original prediction after hearing this. It wouldn't be, er, Qaedish to open a dialogue of this sort.

We can be pretty sure, though, that this episode has opened of world of possibilities before the eyes of many a cell waiting to strike.

If this guy is really trying to establish a line of communication with the cops, it suggests to me that he isn't a foreign terrorist. Just a homegrown nutball.

Though of course it could be a hoax, like last week's lying "witness".
