Freedom deal? No, he couldn't cut one if he offered that he knew a "few(I presume you mean related facts only an accomplice would know, or Al Qaeda members he KNOWS are involved because he is part of it)." If this ex-marine simply speculated concerning possibly guilty parties he is aware of, authorities may just want the chance to investigate the mans guesses before revealing his story, else they spill the beans to parties under investigation thanks to him. I can't get over it, this guy has all the makings of an Al Qaeda perp in this case(sniper manuals and all), save his status as an ex-marine. They got his van, looked hard at it, then tried to withhold parts of what they found and asked the news hounds to shut-up despite the obvious question...what is the explanation for him? Maybe he is nothing, but he's as curious as curious can be, IMO.
