Some headlines about Interpol re: French sniper (recently deserted) thought to be in North America now going across the wires. (Unusually phraseology of "Policemen: I am God" possibly accounted for?)

I should note that the police were lying in wait at that gas station pay phone, meaning they knew in advance the suspect would call from it. Perhaps he had called from there once, they subsequently traced it, and then figured the next call would come from the same phone. In any event, the police obviously had opened a dialogue with the suspects so it should be quite interesting to learn the subject matter.

And I should point out that the second suspect was taken into custody at a different location, so I suppose they were able to observe the suspect at least once before making an arrest and traced him back to the other location.

Anyone above driver's license age has seen it ten times in movies, rather bad ones, connectors clicking etc.

So he can't be that stupid.
