Oh, Barry's shot doesn't rank anywhere at all. It was an unimportant HR, and it didn't go as far as it first appeared. Nevertheless, there was something about the moment of contact..it looked like it would go 600 feet. Like perhaps the moment could have looked similar to when a gymnast slaps his hands together when they are loaded with chalk. The ball had enough inner strength to not turn to dust right then and there.

I saw Frank Howard hit a line drive down the third base line once that went about two feet over the fence and appeared to still be rising...like a Tiger Woods drive. It got there so fast no one had a chance to even flinch. The story was that it shattered the seat it hit. This HR reminded me of that one.
