I know noise makes for a problem in football, where you can't hear signals, but baseball I'm not sure about. Can't remember the movie, but Kevin Costner plays a pitcher; when the crowd gets loud, he tells his elf to "clear the mechanism", and is able to focus enuf to shut out the crowd. I suspect most of these guys are like that; some of them don't even blink when they are up. Focused.
