Why, if the FCC actually could withdraw the licenses, don't they?

The FCC does not work overnight. I think they will wait to see what the Supreme Court has to say. Then move on to their next move. Lots of court time ahead no matter what the outcome of the Supreme Court decision.

They will just string this one out until Nextwave runs out of cash.

Like I have said many times. You don't beat City Hall without the City setting up a 24 hour concrete mixing facility in the street in front of your bedroom for a 7 year sewer expansion project.

Well, it appears that it is impossible to make money in wireless for most companies. (At least this is the current viewpoint). It costs more to build and operate a network than can be recovered in revenues. If true, then the value of this spectrum is ZERO!
