I suppose that he is saying that the anthropology is Scholastic/Catholic, with some extrapolations particular to Miller. Original Sin, grace, the aim of life being the enjoyment of God, the Seven Deadly Sins and the Four Cardinal Virtues, all of that sort of thing. The preservation of learning is important, but it is not the mission of the Church. The mission of the Church is to save souls. It is a vision of holiness, as the monastery continues through the ages, with its endless rounds of prayer and service, in the world but not of it.......
