Some hate America actively--that's to say, they're in favor of flying planes into American skyscrapers. Some (like France) despise America because they can't quite figure out how a great historic culture like theirs wound up a bit-player in a world dominated by ghastly vulgar cowboys. Now, now... I think the guy is suffering from a little excess paranoia... but on the other hand... I agree... I will explain: NOT everyone hate Americans... remember that most countries outside the few "civilized" ones are governed by corrupt totalitarian leaders who can feed and manage mis-information at will to the massses who in turn are largely ignorant (bar the educated elite, who in most cases are part of the corrupt leaders....) The actual people hate no one... many are far too busy to figure out the next meal to be concerned or even be aware of who the "Americans" really are, let alone hate them. Plus... America itself is not that innocent anyway, because indirectly, through the support for animals like countless military dictators in South America, like Somoza and many others... Saddam himself, and many of the monarchs in the middle east who keep the masses ignorant and destitute hence the populi is primed according to the needs of the élites.... Of course I am NOT in favor of terrorism, nor the stupid ideology that drives it... but it is time to cut the bs if we really want to solve the problems that originate it in the first place. In my eyes, the only way to achieve this is by allowing the masses to become a little more literate and educated... so as to NOT allow the few leaders to wield their respective power in the ways that they do... deceiving and terrorizing their own people. Once that is achieved, perhaps some logical dialog could be established... but so long we continue nursing stupid ideas that allow a complete lack of population control (as an example)... we have not a glimmer of hope to begin to resolve the problems that motivate terrorism... So meanwhile... to a degree I am in agreement with many of the points the writer in that piece expresses... So... yes, to the enemies, the radicals and terrorists... I say F* 'em all the fanaticoislamic arseholes can go straight to hell in a veil-covered-hand-held-basket. But... it is time we need to stop patronizing any of these leaders and give them their due... and the sooner this is done the safer we will be..... the more procrastination in this dept... the worse it will get.... and we are running out of time.
