If you look at charts of the latest run in the markets, there are many gaps. Many think these need to be filled before we go higher. My thinking is this data is not what is seems as it is rare to have trend changes so most gaps get filled automatically in a market that is bouncing around or on a trend with backing and filling... but major trend changes can leave gaps and might actually be something to look for....

In fact, I look at "stutter step gaps" as sort of like a street hot rod leaving jumpy skid marks as it races off from a standing stop. I believe I did well buying a few stocks that were doing this last Sept/Oct 2001 then took profits later in early 2002 when they looked to be toppy.
