Tip:

I picked up some heavy scar tissue myself earlier in this down trend,.... all because I was too aggressive on the short side and didn't jump fast enough to box when the rallies commenced. Have improved some on that score this year so the cuts have been less painful. (g)

Aside for junior golds and a few very carefully chosen early stage companies (that I think will do well in bad times), I can't play the long side, even when I think a rally will be potent. For me, it is just too dangerous, as the economy is tanking and the fundamentals favour continued descent.

One of these days, jumping in and out of the short side will prove to be the dumb thing to do as the whole house of cards could collapse. I have accepted that as a cost of remaining nimble.

I hate these powerhouse bear market rallies with a passion as for me at least, they are a difficult read. That said, they also represent opportunity when they drive the prices of junk stocks back into the troposphere.

How come this whole game is so darned difficult? (g)

Best, Earlie
