Did he repudiate them when he became PM? No, because he was bound by rule of law as an Israeli PM LOL! Of course he opposed the OA - but then again, until I mentioned Netanyahu, all that one heard from the Israeli apologists is how "Arafat" was the one opposed to the OA, LOL! Not to worry, the opposition to OA was widespread on the right in Israel, it was not simply Netanyahu. "Events proved him right" - LOL! First he sabotages the OA, then says "events proved me right", LOL! "did he repudiate them?" - I don't think immediately repudiating them *officially* would have gone over too well with the U.S. - but he didn't have to, he proceeded to sabotage it real quick. He made absolutely NO movement on the peace process, instead, supported the insane settlement movement and engaged in endless provocations and games trying to undermine Arafat and the PA - it was impossible for Arafat to do a thing with this guy. Nah, Netanyahu was never one to let a signed agreement stand if he didn't want to - he didn't do that for his very own Wye Agreement, so he had even less trouble with an agreement signed by any previous goverment. Btw., if you want to get a good blast of madness emanating from that nutjob, just dig up some links with his statements - now he's running to the right of Sharon, LOL! Great choices the Israeli public found themselves - they can choose between Sharon-The-War-Criminal, and someone to the right of him, LOL! All this tough talk about "rewarding our friends" - who? Israel? You mean the "friend" who regards us as patsies to be used and abused every which way? I believe they call that being a "frier" in Israel. I know they are big on the "frier" concept, and seems the U.S. fits the bill. Yep, great friends the Israelis, guys who see no problem in murdering our sailors (U.S.S. Liberty), spying on us non-stop despite over $100 billion in support over the years, guys who give us intelligence only when it suits them and distorted at that, guys who when it suits them sell advanced weapon systems to China, weapons whose technology the U.S. taxpayers finances, guys who... oh well, it just goes on and on. Now in exchange for our taking a horrendous beating in world opinion, Muslim countries and actually suffering terrorism, what does Israel offer the U.S.? The time will come, when the U.S. public will wake up, just as the world opinion has. They will see Israel for what it is today - a vicious colonial regime bent on suicidal policies whose treatment of their greatest benefactor is one of the great disgraces of history. Btw. here's a good link to the concept of what the U.S. represents for the Israelis - a "frier" (note the unimpeachable source):torah.org On my way to the store to purchase important plastic additions to our home, an old lady called to me from across the street. Could I help her carry her heavy bags of potatoes home for her? I immediately agreed and carried them to her door about half a block away, for which I was rewarded with her repeated "thank you"s and blessings. In America, I would be called a Boy Scout or a Good Samaritan. In Israel, where I live, I would be called a "frier." A frier, in Israeli usage, is one of the worst things that anybody could call you. It means that you have done something for someone else without getting paid. Allowing yourself to be exploited in this way earns you the reputation of being a frier. It is debatable whether there is anything lower on the social scale. Maybe a bug. And believe it, the U.S. willingness to put up with the Israeli nonsense after such repeated betrayals (espionage, Liberty, China weapons etc., etc., etc.) does not earn us friendship and respect even in Israel. It earns us contempt, and a reputation as a "frier". What it earns us among the Arabs and the ME I won't bother repeating - just open a newspaper, look at the news or talk to folks there.
