Nobody really knows what happened to the owner.

Supposedly, he made a deal with one of the locals to live aboard the boat as a way of protecting it from theft while he took off for parts unknown. When the hurricane warnings came, the local guy left the boat - can't blame him really. The owner may have heard about the hurricane and went back to be with the boat. Nobody knows.

I published the picture in our yacht club's newsletter. We know that he gets his mail forwarded to him where ever he is. It may be the way he finds out about his boat, if he's still out there somewhere.
