I am not talking about politics. I'm talking about the Cultural Imperialism of American film, music and fast food.

Compare the domestic vs. overseas sales of say Sean Penn, vs. Rush Limbaugh.

Set A's celebrity status results from their artistic ability. They don't make a living by spouting their political beliefs. It's arrogant of them to use their status as a pedestal to elevate their political views above others.

Set B's claim to fame is their political acumen as talk show hosts. If nobody wanted to hear their views, they would be bumped right off the air.

Set A (Penn, Harrelson, Streisand) would never succeed in a political discussion environment based on ratings. They are welcome to try, but destined to fail.
