If you don't know J2EE you could be an idiot like me

I'm just a Mechanical Engineer who has some Visual Basic Background.

3 years ago I Developed 9 Visual Basic applications for Complex hydraulics engineering. That includes tedious calculations, complex 3D charts and Reports from Oracle databases.

The fact is:

Using ".NET", I (an idiot) have been able to successfully convert them to 1 secure ASP.NET web application, so it can be executed from anywhere in the intranet. I hope, some of the calculations will be XML web services soon.

I believe, in the near future, all the applications we now run locally (Access, Excel, Corel WordPerfect, Paintbrush) will be executed from a web browser no matter where the application is located (in your computer or outside).
