<After the high-tech bombing our guys charged the enemy on horseback and confirmed the results. Of course that total also included al Qaeda, not just Taliban. And they had not yet figured out how to jam our $20K JDAM bombs with $49 gadgets.>

Well Snowshoe, I take the 3000 with a grain of salt, and I expect there were a few in the count who couldn't really be counted as 'enemy'. There's no need to 'charge' 3000 dead Taliban on horseback. That sounds ridiculous. I expect it was more of an "approaching carefully on horseback" than a charging like the Light Brigade or a pack of Injuns in a John Wayne movie.

I get the impression that the 3000 wouldn't have been very expensive to hire and keep on the salary for the past year or two. With average annual pay rates around US$300 or so [room and board provided], it would take quite a few victims to make up the $20K value of a JDAM bomb [whatever a JDAM bomb is - I suppose Google knows].

In South Park, the Mongolians poured gas on a baseball, lit it, and threw it at the Chinaman who launched the Anti-Mongolian missile. The missile followed the baseball and blasted a hole in South Park's Great Wall.

I think that tactic cost even less than $49.
