My father sure as hell took responsibility, although I don't think he viewed it as a mistake. If you're talking about the October 3 battle in Mogadishu, Clinton's responsibility is that the buck stopped on his desk that day. He was notorious for decimating the military budget and using it in strange ways. In 1993 Colin Powell was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
