To: Nadine Carroll who wrote (54218 ) 10/23/2002 3:05:23 PM From: Sir Francis Drake Respond to of 281500 I am a Jew and I also know the code -- and you've been using it. Oh really? Very quick with accusations of anti-semitism. How about some PROOF??? I've demolished "frankw1900"'s version of the "code", point by point. I defy anyone, and you are WELCOME to try to show where I was wrong in my detailed rebuttals. I may be right or wrong about an issue, but to say that anyone who has a negative opinion, or indeed is wrong about Israel-related issues is anti-semitic is simply a discredited ploy, used to stifle debate. I will have none of it. Let me put you on notice: NO scurrilous accusation will prevent me one iota from expressing my opinions. Btw., you say you are "a Jew and also know the code" - of what exact relevance is your ethnic/religious/national background? I never thought about your background frankly. I never said to myself "wow, Nadine sure flogs the Debka Israeli line, she must be X, Y, or Z". So too I find rather suprising you'd set yourself up like this. Think about it:I am a Jew and I also know the code - is being Jewish somehow a secret pass to knowing "the code", which is completely not accessible to us non-Jews (OR THOSE WHO MAY HAVE JEWISH SPOUSES!)? If so, that would imply something "special" in a way that could be construed as anti-semitic! Nope, Nadine, merely invoking your background gives you no discount on levelling charges - you STILL have to prove them, and saying "because I'm X" won't cut it. And it is not OK to say "well, you are a skillful debater on the Israeli/Palestinian issue, I can't beat you in a debate, so how about if I distract with the 'anti-semitic' ploy". So, cough it up - so I can demolish it, and I WILL, because it is absolutely false. Where's the proof of that scurrilous accusation? And no, nothing will stop me. I won't allow the debate to be stifled by these dirty tricks.
