LOL, you may say the same for any sort of TA. What I try to do is to figure out which pattern or calculated line is in play. There are actually TA strategists who trade with significant volumes at certain signals. Example: I observed that COMEX gold and silver futes price at Gann intervals (12.5, 25, 37.5,...) rather than Fibonacci's (23.6, 38, 50,...). IMHO, you have to explore the universe of TA and be lucky enough to find the pattern or the indicator or the price levels on which the large traders will come in. As I still believe that TA is self-fullfilling. (Until the big player changes his mind <g>). Forks are just any other way to draw speed/resistance lines with channels.
