Re: You're an anti-semitic nutcase who wouldn't post something like this if it wasn't from the Israeli press.

Talking of the Israeli press.... sounds like it's not the paragon of freedom it was cracked up to be:

PA ranked ahead of Israel on press freedom

The Jerusalem Post Staff

Oct. 24, 2002

Israel trails the Palestinian Authority, Kuwait, and Bosnia, among others, in a Reporters Without Borders index regarding press freedom in those countries, the Itim news agency reported.

Israel ranked 92nd on the list, behind the PA (82nd place), Kuwait at 78, and Bosnia at 43. Iran was 122 and Iraq 130. China and North Korea were at the bottom of the list.

According to the study, the weakening of the PA's central government means there is a drop in limitations on press coverage. The report did note that there were several instances of threats to journalists and attempts by the PA to limit press freedom. While the study praised Israel for respecting freedom of the press despite limitations that have to be placed on the media, overall it found that in Judea and Samaria [read: the Occupied Territories] there have been many instances of violations of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights regarding press freedom, including arrests of journalists, travel limitations, and threats, the study reported. Finland, Iceland, Norway and Holland topped the list, followed by Canada.
