Stomper, they would not have searched the house in Tacoma unless they had reason to believe they could match ammo there with that used by the sniper. Until they have some real evidence that links these guys with the crime, as opposed to, perhaps, someone saying they saw their car at the scene, they can't call them suspects.

lol, a CNN reporter is breathlessly telling us that he asked a law enforcement contact whether Williams and Malvo were "armed and dangerous", and the contact replied: "That would be an understatement".

I think they were trying to limit the info they officiely release. Also, trying not to cause alarm. That's my guess.
