I would love to answer this post of yours, because it was priceless! -- but being so virtuous, am busy working, so I haven't read it, unfortunately.

That reminds me that once when my granddaughter, now 11, was a barely-talking little thing, maybe two and a half, and my daughter-in-law told her it was time for her to go to bed, she replied, enunciating every syllable very precisely "Unfortunately, I don't want to."

I hope bragging about a grandchild is permitted. This came in an email from my daughter-in-law last night.

She recently got an invitation to take a test offered by the Center for Talented Youth, a nationwide program offered by John Hopkins University. She received the invitation for scoring in the top 1% on a recent standardized test (she got a 99 on the ITBS Math test last year). She was so proud.

This is my angel-girl violinist who was just accepted into the Seattle Youth Symphony.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.
