Yep.. it suggests a political realignment (forcibly) of the region, in which outside powers will only permit moderate governments to exist in these nations.

I certainly don't believe Israel will occupy Syria, but I do believe the Turks will likely play a strong role in seeing that moderate governments are the only ones which are permitted to exist..

And in part, my opinion is based upon the tremendous economic interests Turkey has in being able to sell its tremendous water resources to all of those nations downstream.

The water issue is going to make Turkey a tremendously powerful political player in the region.. After all, we can live without oil.. But try living without water...
