Boobman: The question of what the UN does or does not do is empirical -- and it will be tested in a few days. The test will show if the people on whom you rely for your opinion are correct. I predict that they are wrong on this point. I believe they have underestimated the rift that Cheney has created. They mistakenly believe that the US wants to keep the UN in-tact as a viable, even if deeply flawed, international institution. Cheney can kill two birds with one stone -- destroy the UN and destroy Iraq at the same time.
