Let me clarify...

It's like abortion clinic bombers. The vast majority of pro-life people would find it completely inconsistent with their beliefs to blow up a clinic, with the possibility of loss of human life. But then along comes some psycho. He's really looking for an excuse to blow something up, and by tying it into the anti-abortion movement he has an excuse. But that isn't really his motivation. He just wants to blow something up.

Other good causes have had similar problems. The Black Panthers might be a good example; some thugs using the civil rights movement as their justification.

The deceased sniper victim from Philadelphia was travelling on business. He was black and a graduate of Wharton business school, and was a VP of a outfit that sought to encourage black people to spend more of their money on products and services from black-owned businesses. And it is said he was quite successful at it. He was also a supporter of that racist US muslim, Farahkan.

The snipers killed one of their own, the dopes.
