You may feel as sad as you wish for whomever you wish.

Just so you know that your decision to be sad is frankly meaningless to me, since you don't know either me or my children.

So yours was a pretty silly remark, when you think about it.

I suppose if I had made that sort of remark to somebody else, they would have taken great umbrage at it and there would have a five hundred post hue and cry.

But since you don't have the faintest idea what you're talking about, I have no reason to take umbrage, and don't. So I don't feel offended at all. So you are excused from the need to apologize.

Which I know makes you feel wonderfully relieved and enormously grateful to me.

Your gratitude is acknowledged and accepted.

Its a sad world now that I stop to
think about it.

Au contraire. It's a wonderful world. I, for example, in my 3d life have had a delightful day, a very successful day, starting with making a presentation which drew rave reviews from all the attendees and ending with getting a new client who is certain that I can get him out of a situation which is weighing heavily on him. And while one can never be certain of anything in family law, I am highly confident that I can get him a satisfactory resolution of his problem.

I feel very good about living a life in which I have the opportunity to use my professional training, experience, skills, and intelligence to bring real and meaningful benefits to other people.

It's not a sad world at all. I'm terribly sorry that you feel that it is. Perhaps you need to take a break from SI and take some time to appreciate the wonders of this world God (or, if X is correct, the mindless workings of entropy) has given us.

Please, go well.
