Tom Smith - No need IMO for this debate to be off line, this is relevant stuff in terms of how we all filter our information streams.

My skepticism of that JPM rumor is founded on the amateurish character of the information as presented -- it reads like a "Psssst, hey buddy" pitch in the back alley from the guy with the hot watches under his coat. IMO it's simply not credible.

It ain't easy keeping a $170 billion fraud under wraps, and if there were one here (let's not debate what constitutes "fraud" at JPM), I would think the story would be breaking via more conventional news sources than exclusively by SI's message boards, wouldn't you?
