Even if Palestine got its independence tomorrow (with or without those "1967 borders") it would still be economically dependent on SOME other country, most likely Israel, because it does not have the economic resources to go it alone. Given the Palestinians' history, of course Israel and Jordan would insist on a demilitarized state. I would call this political reality, not "oppression", or violation of "human rights".

I beg to differ. Long gone are the days when such oppression could triumph, for two reasons

LOL!! The Opression! The oppression of reality. Always has been such a difficulty for Palestinian aspirations.

My guess is that they will "keep dreaming", which is an essential ingredient to any story of independence.

Zonder is dreaming too. They'll "keep dreaming" that the big blank spot on their maps don't exist, and that they can establish a pitifully small and destitute little thug state that they can continue to pretend won't be tied inextricably to its bigger neighbors' economies. Never mind that their neighbors control their water, their transporation grid, their power grids, their airspace, their jobs. Palestine will rise from the desert, ex nihilo. Preferably on the graves of as many Jews as possible.
