RE: Dual Itaniums with cooling patents.

I just don't see Dell doing this sort of innovation and competing in that market...

At one point I thought IBM and Dell would merge as Dell is a good distribution model and IBM has R&D... but one wonders if IBM can build their own Dell model eventually?

I must admit that I own a Dell as it was easy to get EXACTLY what I wanted from their refurbished program (Heck, I'll let someone else have the infant failure and I'll take a box with a bit of dust at 20% off) and their case design has some patents... and it is VERY easy to open and do things yourself inside like adding memory and a 2nd video card. I also like Dell's service and support. I paid $99 for in home, next day repairs warranty with great phone tech support when needed. (I thihnk this costs more now). Back when I bought this PC, late 1999, HP wasn't even in the same league for this; tech support sucked and they didn't even have refurbished models listed online.
