helped my father campaign for Humphrey in 1948. My father sold medicine in South Dakota and Minnestota in those days. The Humphrey's had a pharmacy which was part of his route and my dad knew Hubert and his dad quite well. They used to send letters and greetings even after our family moved to Texas. When LBJ was in office Hubert Humphrey would send invitations to events (even though my dad was precient chairman for the tiny republican party in our area). I still have many relatives spread across that countryside. TP
