Don't count out the Democrats in Minnesota so quickly. It was no coincidence that Walter Mondale was just on national TV eulogizing Wellstone. Mondale is younger than Frank Lautenberg (74 vs. 78) A buck says that he will be in the race by Monday. Politicians are like boxers. They are always game for one more.

In that case I need to amend my former post. Being in the Senate as a lame duck for 2 months would do the same. Still, unless "The Body" switched to being a democrat the lame duck session would go to the Republicans.
