"Still think that a meaningful correction back in 1998 would have avoided much of this pain for the market and boomer retirees, that is now inevitable" I agree. The correction was actually pretty deep, but the combination of a huge pump in fall 98 and then another one in winter 99, and then talking the cookie jar away is what has led to this disaster. The patient was brought back from it's sick bed, and then put on anabolic steroids. Truly, it takes a bigger fool to make 3 errors rather than one.
