Thank you. I try to avoid the mud, yes. But I know that I may err in the direction of being too scrupulous, so I want to be careful to allow for the possibility of the "standing up" scenario coming up on line. In my own case, if someone rides me and won't stop, I become highly satirical. I do not get in the mud, but I feel free to be pretty insulting, with some redeeming whimsy. It has been a few years since the worst instance. I riffed off the guy pretty well, though......

I certainly echo that.

Neo took a stand of principle and got really reamed out for it. His commitment to stand by his principles was all the more impressive the more vindictive, hostile, and hateful his opponents became.

One thing I have learned in my years of living is that hatred is a very draining, almost debilitating emotion to carry around with you. I look at the actions of certain posters here and sometimes am tempted to feel very sorry for them because they feel it necessary to carry such awsomely burdensome loads of hate around with them.
