Suddenly the union could be faced with extinction and the dockworkers with the loss of their $80,000-a-year jobs> Wow! $80,000 per year. Those people are detached from reality. How much do the wharfies in Shanghai earn? Maybe the Shanghai Port Authority could offer to take over the USA West coast ports to aid development of peace, light, harmony, happiness, prosperity and fast unloading of ships from Shanghai and New Zealand. King George II might think it better to have Shanghai running the cranes and straddle carriers than sitting paralyzed on strike, just at a time when the global economy is not in good condition to weather such further blows, and WAT, WOT and Whatnot Willy Nilly need action. Or just fire all those lazy, greedy union guys who probably can barely waddle to their cranes, and replace them with lean and hungry people trying to earn a living. Maybe me old mate Geoff Vazey who is Ports of Auckland CEO could do a takeover of a few ports and 2000 Kiwis [I'm an ex-wharfie] could go over there at half price [still heaps compared with pay here] to unblock the coast. Maybe my US$ are overpriced and it's time for me to simply abandon ship. I'm growing impatient while opportunities for something else aren't tempting me.
