Of course they provide vendor financing. They all do. Egypt's late president Nasser had mortgaged his country raw cotton production for thirty years as to get more Migs.

Furthermore, the best reason why Saddam wasn't done by Bush I ten years ago is because he was the n° 1 salesman of US weapons, indirectly.
Koweit, Qatar, the UAE ( United Arab Emirates) and Saudia : we are talking above ten billion $ per year of US sales; France, Russia and China not playing in those fields.

No Saddam, no Iran, and them Rich Arab Oil Guardians don't need all that stuff. Not that they are so good at using it, but that's another point.

Muslims fanatics blew up a French tanker and just killed dozens of innocent people in a theater in Moscow in spite of those countries' objection to the US policy on Iraq. Just goes to show that in the war against terror we are all potential innocent victims just because we are infidels.

You have to think that France and Russia opposition is only about negotiating a deal with Bush et al. and not because they feel some kind of friendship for the ol' Arab Butcher of Baghdad.

I feel that today's very unfortunate turn of event in Moscow will help the Washington-Moscow relationship. Just wait a few weeks and you will see Paris, Moscow and Washington cut the final deal.
