Fair point. However, if such a major component of revenues and earnings is only growing at 9%, then other business lines (that start from much lower absolute revenue levels) will have to experience hypergrowth to raise the overall rate to a level significantly higher than that.

Jordan, aren't the Office and Windows monopolies the only significantly profitable product lines MSFT has? Given that, and given that at least one of those is predicting only 9% growth, and that lots of money is being sunk into the other unprofitable ventures just to provide leverage to maintain those two monopolies, it seems that Windows earnings will have to grow by about 75% annually in order to justify MSFT's P/E. With PC sales declining, why do you think that will happen? Sheer brute-force monopoly-backed price increases?
