there is nothing for you to feel guilty about, max. thanks for sharing in detail despite not having anything on the table at this time. i agree with your assessment, there are all sorts of reasons why this thing should roll over and die monday - but we've had reasons for it to roll over and die every day for the past week.

and it hasn't.

the bottom line for me is if we don't turn down monday, i will close my shorts and wait for the next opportunity. in theory i have until nov 15 to ride this out, but the fact is this could continue and i need to roll out of positions before we get into the serious premium erosion part of the curve.

"Wimp Neutral" Max? Not from where I'm sitting.

The way I see it, [1] you are playing it smart; you have other business, (property and such), to take care of which would interfere with your trading were you trading right now; [2] it's nice knowing we can bounce ideas off of somebody with your experience in the markets who has a perspective which is not burdened by having money in play. Not that you should stay out of the markets permanently for our benefit, but we'll be happy to take advantage while it lasts. <gg>
