(Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.) [interested in elmatador's view of course] ========================================================btw, you seem to be an early riser, PB. Assuming it's GMT for you. Yep it's GMT here this evening (clocks go back 1 hr). I'm up strange hours at times, teenagers you know -g- Here in Scotland, it's a kind of watered down version of NI.(Much watered down fortunately). They have the Catholic Protestant problem to some degree, Orange day marches etc. There is lots of guys come over from NI during these parade days and celebrations. Scotland and NI have a history, Scots originated from NI, pushing out the (or integrating with) Picts who earlier gave the Romans so much trouble. To help boost the Roman era English Scottish border economy though, a 15 ft wall was built under direction by Hadrian. It was a government sponsored project for the area. A FDR type "New Deal" of the times..hadrians-wall.org This structure provided full employment for the area while being built. As well as being a good defensive structure it was also an eye catching aesthetic piece of architecture. What better way to spend your time then building a nice wall? -g- It also prevented the British from migrating Northwards, mixing in with the Picts and disturbing the peace in civilized Roman Britain. Later, it assisted the economy by providing handy building material for the local economies for many hundreds of years. Just throwing out some ideas for Lula da Silva and Western Governments, as I anticipate trouble ahead on our stock markets -g-
