I am on too briefly, for now. I will try to get back to this.

Gustave,

I feel your pain.

It must be horrible to be a leftist in Belgium. I imagine it's a little bit like being the only leper in Antarctica. No one to commiserate with. Thank God for the internet...neh?

What ever happened to the good olde days when Stalin, Khruschev and Brezhnev really knew how to party? There was pride in their tyranny back then. They exhibited it every Mayday when they paraded their Scud missles through Red Square. I remember well the marching men with their SKS rifles (unloaded of course); and, up in the Emperor's box the entire geriatric politiburo solemnly nodding in approval. Or perhaps, they were just nodding off. I couldn't always tell.

The proletariat really knew it's place back then too. Everyone knew that there was a Gulag out there with their name on it. They knew better than to speak their minds, as you do now.

Yes, the Soviet Tsars knew a thing or two about power...you bet. I bet it still brings a lump to your throat when you think about it.

Sad though.

Now you are reduced to supporting non-socialists like Saddam Hussein who murders his citizens, declares war on two of his arab neighbors and engages in the manufacture of biochemical, nuclear and chemical weapon just to prove to your leftist associates that you still hate the USA, the symbol of everything that is wrong in your world today.

Still, you had one major success this week. You discovered Uri Avnery. One of a very small handful of Israeli's who has taken up the Palestinian cause. What a coup. I congratulate you.

I think you deserve to reward yourself. I suggest a Big Mac and a Coke today.

Err, would you like some fries with that?
