But nowhere is it stated that these publications necessarily reflect the thinking of the large majority of Canadians when it comes to editorials on America.

To deny that there is in Canada a very strong anti-American sentiment is either hypocritical or dumb. Government with anti-american agendas get elected and newspapers with strong anti-american views are the nation's best-sellers. Why? Because it is of appeal to the people.

I am Canadian and I happen to be VERY pro-American so I would not want to FOUL anyone here in making them believe that the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail (like you just tried) only reflect the views of a few: they are the leading newspapers in the country after all.
