Hi Nat, The <<cost>> can add up quickly. They are now difficult to avoid because the WAT-WOT-WAEvil machinery is working, the motivating lead fly-wheel is spinning up rapidly, sucking in energy, and the main gear works are about to be meshed with the motivating wheel. The thus engaged clockwork will tick down the inexorable sequence of events, meandering all of us through to the other side of equation of time, to be clocked over by the function of conflict, and the exponent of death, finally arriving at whatever is ordained by one of two gods, flying the crossed flag or holding the crescent standard. Before all is said, done, done again, and said once more, the global community will be aware of little else, from kids to adults, Maurice year after Jay year, leading finally to exhaustion and doubt.

We cannot know the consequence of such inexorable sequence of events on our nest egg baskets, but I am guessing the shocking vibrations can do some direct impact damage and cause some splashing harm.

This state of affairs will last a long time and so we might as well learn to live with it now. I will continue to buy paper gold on good news and sell on bad, react to daily news reading as the mood strikes. <<$10 billion>> here and there adds up quickly, together with 200 billion from Ford and 300 billion from Brazil, multiplied by Japan's big unknown variable, and worked over by the social security/pension exponent, and tagged along, at last, by Auntie Fannie and Uncle Freddie.

Most of these numbers will tally up regardless of what else may happen in WAT-WOT-WAEvil.

Chugs, Jay
