My Gawd! That's the nicest thing a lurker's said about this thread in the longest time.
We've got some really fine minds here, but man are we stuck in a bad place. Yours truly included.

This lurker agrees. Otherwise, a good topic with interesting participants. But is it going anywhere?

As a lurker who has on occasion waded into the muck I advise you to be careful. There are many instances of good discussion about good topics on this thread.

Beware, some "contributors" seem to resent that and drag up old hurts to rehash over and over and over and over again. If it were so painful you would think they would move on but that won't happen because they are not capable of moving on or they think it’s therapeutic to rehash old hurts over and over again. They are frozen in time and can’t stand it if the discussion is not about them. Don’t be fooled if someone says they will never post here again. Current trends suggest this is not possible.

Everyone who has stated they will never post on this thread raise your hands.

Some "contributors" started a competing moderated thread but I won’t recommend it. Rather then offering interesting back and forth it fell apart because of bickering over whom to ban.

Every once in a while they realize how boring they are to each other and decide that they need to make this thread boring so their thread will appear competitive.

Damn! I’ve wadded in again. Don’t expect to many responses from me, I have a few things I need to do this evening and tomorrow I’ll be at the Raven’s game.

Nope, it's going nowhere. The best destination would be

The End.

But that's just my opinion.

A rather baroque novel could be made of the whole story. We even have a full-fledged villain and his moll. But unless you've been following for a while, you can't imagine the detail. And if PM"s were included, it would be a best seller.
