If somebody dies, even within 'legal' time constraints of an election, you are viewing it as somehow unfair

This is not what I was referring to. Obviously, the current situation with Wellstone's death is going to create a difficult situation. But what is unfair is that the Democrats, in an effort to insure the seat isn't lost, is going insert someone who has been out of politics for 20 years solely on the basis of name recognition. Someone who frankly doesn't even want to be involved.

I did not intend to imply it was as dirty as the NJ deal. NJ was one of the worst displays of political dirty tricks I've seen in a while. Actually, since the 2000 campaign when Gore tried to steal the election.

It's wrong but the courts upheld the ruling and we all kno that the courts have the final say in elections.

Well, the US Supreme Court should have straightened it out, but they avoided it solely for its political implications, I believe.

Nontheless, it is but one more slimey example of the Democrats at work. The things that they're famous for.

Consider the following from recent elections:

- The Torricelli Incident
- The Racist Add against Geo Bush in '00
- The Attempted Theft by Gore of the Presidential Election in '00
- The release, days before the '00 election, of misleading information concerning Bush's DWI incident
- The release, days before the '92 election, of the "October Surprise" from Lawrence Walsh. One of the more sickening examples of Democrat dirty tricks.

Well, you get the idea. You can no doubt cite a couple of Republican examples. But it is patently untrue to suggest that the numbers are the same on both sides.

That's priceless. There is an example of Republican mindset. If somebody dies, even within 'legal' time constraints of an election, you are viewing it as somehow unfair. How's this for unfair: as for counting absentee ballots already submitted; anybody voting for Sen. Wellstone will not have their votes counted but the Republican nominee's votes WILL count.

Let me tell you.......if it had been a Rep. killed in a plane crash two weeks before the election, and the election has been this close, I am convinced they would have accused the Dems. of sabotaging the plane.

The only positive thing to come out of this Wellstone tragedy is that the DFL will find a capable, competent replacement for Mr. Wellstone, and he/she will be the next senator from the great state of Minnesota, the state where I once lived.

As for the New Jersey situation, the Democrats should have cleaned house a long time ago. Its wrong but the courts upheld the ruling and we all know that the courts have the final say in elections. <g>

Evil.......very evil! <g>

I'd say the following link pretty much proves me right:
