I'll let this pass and see if you stop "needling."

I think something has happened to X. I mean something serious. She's a broken mechanism, and her ratiocination is increasingly bizarre. That isn't hyperbole.

As you know, I believe you to be an evil man. I don't believe X is evil, I believe she's broken, or maybe it's that something is missing, or dead, in her.

I was a long-time holdout on both of you, you know.

Had the Adlai Stevenson temptation not been too great, I wouldn't have started the contention with you, and X wouldn't have, in her need to ally with you and get my attention, started the contention with me.

I suspect that the results of X's engagements with me are destructive to her. She has a family who needs her, and I'm going to try to ignore her provocations.
