Well, the Belafonte coments were not racial bigotry exactly - they were partisan bigotry. Any black man dumb enough to be a Republican is obviously only doing it to suck up to massa.

AHHHH. My bad. Guess it ISN'T racist, then.

Black people can be racist against black people. For example, many light skinned blacks look down on darker skinned blacks, and darker skinned blacks know it and resent it. The division between field slaves and house slaves tended to be drawn along the same lines, lighter skinned blacks in the household, darker skinned blacks in the fields.

In New Orleans, black people used to have what they called "paper bag parties." If you were darker than a paper bag, you couldn't go to the party.

Did you ever see School Daze by Spike Lee? That film (imo) did an excellent job of exploring black racism. Spike has never shied away from exploring all aspects of racism, black on white, white on black, black on black and so on.

I'm sorry, Nadine. I was totally mistaken to give LindyBill the "FADG arbiter of good and bad racism" title. You're obviously a far better candidate, plus you got extensive experience as arbiter of good and bad sarcasm and sneering.

"Arab Mind" type stereotyping is always on topic, but anybody criticizing Israeli policies is anti-semitic. And of course criticizing Colin Powell is only allowable when he's not clearing backing the "War Now!" line of the moment.
